attended worship services at
Verdtgree, Nebr., on March 15th
and then had dinner with Mr.
and Mrs. Dave Vesely at Verdel,
Nebr. This was in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Ulmers 28th anniver-
sary which was March 10th.
Ruby and Lucille Ulmer and
Daniel Schroeder also were din-
ner guests. Mrs. Ulmer spent a
couple of days last week with
her daughter and son-in-law.

Women's Society Of
Christian Service
Observe 50th Anniversary
On March 10, 1070, the Witt-
enberg and Olivet Women's So-
ciety o,f Christian Service ob-
served their 50th anniversary at
the Olivet church.
An organ arid piano prelude
was played by Mrs. Herb Reich
and Mrs. Edgar Muetler. The
welcome and devotionals was
presented by Mrs. Sterling Wen-
zel.
The history of the Wittenberg
Society which was compiled by
Mrs. Irvin Shelton and Mrs. Or-
v,al Bohner was read by Mrs.
Irvin Sheltcn. The society was
organized under the ministry of
Rev. L. H. Moore with eight
charter members, namely: Mrs.
John Zunkel, Mrs. Oscar Boeg-
let, Mrs. Harvey Grim, Mrs.
John Baumgart, Mrs. Albert
Barth, Mrs. Andrew Bergland,
Mrs. J. N. Shiley and Mrs. Fred
names.
Of the three surviving charter
merbers, Mrs. Francis Baum-
gart was in attendaxtce' and re-

presented to Mrs. Wenzel for
her contributions of service to

membership of the society is 16.

Lloyd Fischer provided the spec-
ial music.
A skit, which was written by
YIrs. Irvin Shelton, re-enacting
the proceedings of the first W.
M. S. meeting, was presented by
Mrs. Orval Bohner, Mrs. Herman
Holt, Mrs. William Barrel, Mrs.
Stanley Boegler, Mrs. Edgar
Mueller, Mrs. Lloyd Fischer, Mrs.
Allen Groen, Mrs. Irvin Shelton
and Rev. Sterling Wenzel.
The history of the Olivet so-
ciety was written by Mrs. Al-
fred Dumrner and Mrs. Jenn.e
Barth, was read by Mrs. Dum-
mer. The society was organized
with- nine charter members,
namel,y: Mrs. Jessie Grim, Mrs.
Harry Rimes, Mrs. R. E. Boeg-
ler, Mrs. L. H. Moore, Mrs. Lan-
dy Bingam, an, Mrs. Charlie
Grim, Mrs. Henry Grim, Mrs.
Henry Barth, and Mrs. F. C.
Kratz. The present membership
is 33.
One of the three surviving
charter members, Mrs. R. E.
Boegler, was present and receiv-
ed the gold pin emblem.
Letters from former members
were read by Mrs. Albert Steff-
en. Recognition was given to
three new members, Mrs. Gerald
Newell, Mrs. Adam Reiser, and
Mrs. Zeona Mass.
A pantom4ne by the Olivet
society depicting events occur-
ing in the history of the United
States over the past 50 years
was presented with Mrs. Herb
Reich as the reader. It was
written by Mrs. Reich and Mrs.
George Walker. Those in par-
ticipation were: Mrs. William
Bush, Mrs. Kent Wintersteen
Mrs. Sterling Wenzel, Mrs. Oeo.

graduated from the Evangelical
Theological Seminary at Naper-
ville, Ill. He served pastorates
in Duluth, Mlrm., and LeMars,
Ia., before he was called to
serve on the staff of Evangelical
Theohgieal Seminary as treas-

was by Marion Sayler, organist,
and Lorene Parkin, who sang
"O Perfect Love ' and "Wedding
Prayer."
Mr. Sayler gave his daughter
in marriage, and she was at-
tended by Miss Doris Ziegler of
Sioux Falls as maid of honor.
Mrs. Jerome Nusz of Rapid City
was bridesmatron.
Daniel Nusz of Menno was his
brother's best man. Groomsman
was Lee Herrboldt, Menno.
Also in the bridal party were
Michelle Sayler, niece of the
bride, who was fower glrl in a
miniature bridesmaid's dress,
and Jeffrey Sayler, nephew, who

Vienna, Austria, in 1908. He at-
tended grade school in Austria
8 years, and school in Hungary
3 years.
He also attended schools in
the United States. He is married
and has five children, 4 daugh-
ters and 1 son.
He is farming 1000 acres in
Tuscola County, Michigan, in
'row craps and raises some hogs.
He became a member of the
National Board of Directors for
the National Farmers Organiza-
tion in 1964 and served in that
cpaclty until 1969,
He came to America in 1921
and has been a citizen of he
United States since 1922,
